Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Family Guardian (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Family Guardian mobile application and related services. Family Guardian is operated in connection with Gadaadictionary.com.

By creating an account or using Family Guardian, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Account registration. When you register, we collect information such as your name, role in the family (parent or child), and credentials used to sign in. Parents create and manage family groups; child accounts are created under parental supervision.

Email addresses. We collect email addresses for account creation, authentication, password recovery, important service notices, and optional notifications. Email addresses are not sold to third parties.

Firebase Authentication. We use Google Firebase Authentication to verify identities and manage sign-in (including email/password and other supported providers). Firebase may process authentication tokens and related metadata necessary to secure your account.

Cloud Firestore. Family profiles, member relationships, tasks, rewards, schedules, check-in history, SOS events, geofence definitions, and app configuration data may be stored in Google Cloud Firestore. Data is organized per family account and access is restricted by security rules.

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). We use FCM to deliver push notifications such as SOS alerts, check-in reminders, task updates, bedtime reminders, and subscription notices. Device tokens and notification preferences may be stored to deliver these messages.

GPS location tracking. With explicit permission, Family Guardian may collect real-time or periodic location data from devices linked to family members. Location is used for map display, safety features, and location-based alerts. You can disable location permissions in device settings; some features may not work without location access.

Geofences. Parents may define geographic boundaries (geofences). When a family member enters or leaves a geofence, the app may record the event and send notifications to authorized family members.

Family location sharing. Location data shared within a family group is visible only to members authorized by the parent account administrator, according to role and feature settings.

SOS alerts. When a user triggers an SOS alert, we process location, timestamp, and account identifiers to notify designated family members and display alert status in the app.

Check-ins. Manual or scheduled check-ins may record time, optional location, and confirmation status for family visibility and safety logs.

Tasks and rewards. Parents may assign tasks and rewards to child accounts. We store task descriptions, completion status, reward points or badges, and related metadata.

School schedules. Optional school schedule information (classes, times, locations) may be stored to support reminders and family coordination.

Bedtime schedules. Bedtime and wake-time settings, plus related reminders, may be stored and used to notify family members or enforce screen-time rules where enabled.

Screen time management. We may collect and store screen-time limits, usage summaries, and enforcement settings configured by parents for child devices.

App usage monitoring. On supported devices and plans, Family Guardian may collect app usage statistics (such as time spent in apps or categories) to help parents understand and manage digital habits. Collection depends on device permissions and OS capabilities.

2. Subscriptions and Payments

RevenueCat. Subscription status, entitlements, and purchase metadata may be processed through RevenueCat to manage Premium and Premium Plus features across platforms.

Apple App Store purchases. If you subscribe via Apple, payment is processed by Apple. We receive transaction and entitlement information from Apple and RevenueCat, not your full payment card details.

Google Play purchases. If you subscribe via Google Play, payment is processed by Google. We receive purchase confirmation and subscription status from Google and RevenueCat, not your full payment card details.

We do not store complete credit or debit card numbers on our servers.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve Family Guardian features
  • Authenticate users and secure family accounts
  • Deliver safety alerts, notifications, and family coordination tools
  • Process subscriptions and verify premium feature access
  • Respond to support requests and legal obligations
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

  • Within your family group — according to parent-configured roles and permissions
  • Service providers — such as Google (Firebase, FCM, Firestore), RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play, under their respective terms and our instructions
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect safety and rights

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and family data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

6. Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by:

  • Using in-app account deletion options where available, or
  • Emailing [email protected] with your registered email and a clear deletion request

Parents may request deletion of child accounts they administer. Some data may be retained in backups or logs for a limited period for security, legal, or operational reasons.

7. Children’s Privacy

Family Guardian is designed for families and may be used by children under parental supervision. Child accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly permit children to create standalone accounts without parental involvement.

Parents control what data is collected for child profiles, including location, screen time, and notifications. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Our practices aim to comply with applicable children’s privacy laws, including COPPA where applicable, through parental gates and guardian-managed accounts.

8. Security Practices

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit
  • Firebase security rules and authenticated access controls
  • Role-based permissions within family groups
  • Monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and keep your device and account credentials private.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before processing requests.

10. International Users

Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States. By using Family Guardian, you consent to such transfers subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes may be communicated via the app or email where appropriate.
